  • The New York State Department of Motor Vehicles may revoke your license for 6 months if you are convicted of passing a stopped school bus three times in three years;
  • You may be required to attend a formal hearing to investigate habitual or persistent violation of the vehicle and traffic law at which revocation or suspension action may be taken if you have been charged with three or more violations for which points are assessed within an unusually short period of time [see: 15 NYCRR 131.4 (d)];
  • The New York State Department of Motor Vehicles will charge you $100.00 per year for three years if you accumulate six (6) points on your driving record within an 18 month period as part of its Driver Responsibility Program;
  • The New York State Department of Motor Vehicles will charge you $25.00 per year for three years for each point you accumulate on your driving record over six (6) points within an 18 month period as part of its Driver Responsibility Program;
  • If you are convicted of speeding, reckless driving, following too closely, participating in a speed contest or two other traffic infractions while on a probationary license, your license will be suspended for 60 days. When the suspension ends, you will be on probation for another six months.  If you are convicted of speeding, reckless driving, following too closely, participating in a speed contest or two other traffic infractions during this second probation period, your license will be revoked for at least six months. When the revocation ends, you will be on probation for another six months.
