The sixth point accumulated on your driving record in an 18 month period costs you $100 per year for three years. Each point over the sixth point accumulated on your driving record during that 18 month period costs you an additional $25 per point per year for three years. The Driver Responsibility Assessment is collected by the New State Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). The Driver Responsibility Assessment is over and above any fine and/or surcharge imposed by the local court. DMV will suspend your license for non-payment of the Driver Responsibility Assessment.
