You must drive on the right half of the roadway, except when : 1. overtaking and passing another vehicle proceeding in the same direction; 2. overtaking or passing pedestrians, animals or obstructions on the right half of the roadway; 3. an obstruction exists making it necessary to drive to the left of the center of the roadway; 4. travel on the shoulder or slope is allowed ; 5. driving on a roadway divided into three marked lanes for traffic; or 6. traveling on roadway restricted to one-way traffic. You may overtake and pass another vehicle upon the right only when it can be done safely. You must also return your vehicle back to the right side of the roadway as soon as practicable and before coming within two hundred feet of any oncoming vehicle. Whenever the roadway you are traveling on has designated lanes for specified vehicles or direction of travel, you must travel in the lane designated for your specified vehicle or designated for your particular direction of travel regardless of the center of the roadway.
